Lifting a Heritage Building

Heritage Building being lifted by 28 Orbit Jacks (ORDH 60/6)

  • The ORBIT Double Acting Hollow 60 ton 6” stroke cylinder seen here was custom built for the contractor who needed to meet exact measurements and parameters in order to complete the lift.
  • 28 Double Acting Hollow Jacks were used in series because each jack needed
    to be precisely controlled, both separately and together
  • In a job like this there is no room for error, that is why the contractor chose
    ORBIT Double Acting Hollow Aluminum 60 ton Jacks.

The 28 custom built ORBIT ORDH 60/6 Aluminum Cylinders were placed in strategic positions (there are 2 jacks at each post) both outside the building (seen here) as well as inside the building (not shown).

 Each ORBIT jack had to remain outside for up to a week, however since they are all aluminum construction, there was no chance of corrosion.
